Laura Lehmann is Miss World-Philippines 2017

    IT’S LAURA LEHMANN who bagged the title of Miss World-Philippines 2017. She was crowned by outgoing Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Grey and by Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle.

    Laura will represent the Philippines at the Miss World competition to be held in Sanya, China on November 18.

    Winwyn Marquez, meanwhile, won the title of Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017. She will represent the country in Bolivia.

    Cynthia Thomalla took the title of Miss Eco Philippines, while Sophia Senoron was crowned as Miss Multinational Philippines.

    AT THE recent 33rd Star Awards for Movies of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star For All Season Vilma Santos and Superstar Nora Aunor both won the Best Actress Award. Vilma won for her performance in “Everything About Her” while Nora for “Kabisera”.

    In 1982 Nora and Vilma made a movie together titled “T-Bird At Ako”. Prior to that they were also cast in a movie “Ikaw Ay Akin” in 1978. Christopher de leon played both their love interest.

    Would there be a possibility for the two great actresses to do another movie? Nora said,”

    “Iyan ang pag-uusapan namin. “Siguro naman, kung mayroong magandang proyekto na parang T-Bird at Ako, na naaayon o tumutugma sa aming dalawa ay bakit hindi?

    “Para sa akin ay walang problema.”

    On the other hand, Vilma said, “Sana mabigyan kami ng magandang script.

    “Kasi, sa klase ng tayo namin ngayon, we’re not getting any younger.

    “Kailangan namin ng isang magandang script para nang sa ganun ay makaasa kami na papanoorin ng mga tao.”

    It is seldom that people got to see the two legends in Philippine cinema sharing one stage. Aside from their Best Actress trophy, the two were given the award as Ginintuang Bituin ng Pelikulang Pilipino. for their 50 years of contribution in the movie industry.

    How would Ate Vi feel that their rivalry was ignited?

    “Okay lang yung ganyan na friendly rivalry. “Kami naman ng kumare ko, ever since, kami naman ang magkalaban.

    “Pero hindi naman iyon yung magkalaban kami sa career, we’re friends, so malaking karangalan na magkasama ulit kami ngayon.”

    Ate Guy summoned the people to refrain from putting malice on their award.

    “Huwag na nating haluan ng intriga dahil wala namang isyu. Walang dapat gawan ng isyu.

    “Salamat sa PMPC sa karangalang ibinigay sa amin.

    “Masaya ako na nanalo kami ng kumare ko.”
