PORAC, Pampanga – The road to a degree in medicine has opened wide for Rolan Popatco Jr., an Aeta from Barangay Camias here, who made history and his people proud as the first full-fledged medical technologist in Pampanga after he successfully passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination last March 2026.
On April 14, the Our Lady of Fatima University awarded a certificate of scholarship to Popatco in his quest for an MD degree, personally handed to him by university president Dr. Caroline Marian Enriquez.
“Isang napakahalagang hakbang ito tungo sa ating pangarap na magkaroon ng sariling doktor ang ating komunidad sa kabundukan. Malugod naming binabati si Rolan sa tagumpay na ito—nawa’y magsilbi itong inspirasyon sa marami pang kabataang nangangarap,” enthused acting Mayor Jen Capil during the awarding of the scholarship at the Porac town hall.
“Taos-puso rin ang aming pasasalamat sa OLFU sa kanilang malasakit at patuloy na pakikiisa bilang katuwang ng ating lokal na pamahalaan sa mga programang pang-edukasyon at sa komunidad,” she added. Punto News Team/Jen Capil FB Page
