CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Forty-eight brand-new motorcycles have been turned over to the Police Regional Office 3 to strengthen Unified 911 emergency response across Central Luzon.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., and PRO-3 director BGen. Jess Mendez led the blessing and turnover of the motorcycles at Camp Captain Julian Olivas here on Sept. 30.
The units will be deployed to police provincial offices and stations throughout the region, augmenting existing response vehicles and personnel in handling urgent calls received through the 911 emergency hotline.
Each unit is equipped with helmets, warning lights, sirens, and a microphone-enabled public-address system to help police personnel communicate warnings and instructions while responding to incidents.
With greater mobility, the motorcycles are expected to help PRO 3 personnel reach emergencies more quickly, particularly in areas where larger response vehicles may have difficulty gaining access.
“These motorcycles are not just equipment; they represent our commitment to ensuring that help reaches our communities. That is the commitment of the Philippine National Police,” noted Nartatez.
“For our part, sisiguraduhin namin na ang mga motorcycle na ito ay magagamit kung saan nararapat at kailangan. Pangalagaan nang maayos upang makatulong na mapabilis ang pagresponde ng ating mga kapulisan. Because in an emergency, every minute matter. Ang mahalaga sa ating mga kababayan, mabilis dumating ang tulong. That is the service we want them to feel,” Mendez said.

Meanwhile, Remulla underscored that the new fleet symbolizes the government’s commitment to protecting communities and strengthening the delivery of public safety services.
The turnover also supports the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Safer Cities initiative, which promotes stronger police presence, law enforcement, community-based policing, and local government participation.
The initiative is aligned with the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s efforts to strengthen government service delivery and equip public safety institutions with resources to better respond to the needs of communities. Rick P. Quiambao/PIA-3
