Brigada Eskwela mobilizes P43.8-M in support for Central Luzon schools

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Brigada Eskwela 2026 has generated more than ₱43.8 million worth of resources across Central Luzon on its first day of implementation, ahead of the opening of classes.

This strong turnout reflects robust multi-sectoral support for school readiness efforts, with over 201,000 volunteers participating in the annual bayanihan initiative.

Department of Education (DepEd) Assistant Regional Director Jessie Amin said contributions came from national government agencies, local government units, private sector partners, civic organizations, financial institutions, parents, teachers, and community volunteers.

Assistance included school supplies, equipment, financial donations, and personnel support aimed at ensuring safe, clean, and child-friendly learning environments.

“Matapos ang unang araw ng Brigada Eskwela noong Lunes, ang kabuuang halaga ng nalikom na mga resources sa buong rehiyon ay nasa mahigit ₱43.8 million habang nasa mahigit 201,000 na mga Brigada Eskwela volunteers ang lumahok sa unang araw ng taunang bayanihan para sa mga paaralan,” Amin said.

He emphasized that the strong participation underscores the continued spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility in strengthening school readiness and ensuring that learning spaces are prepared for the smooth return of learners.

Amin also highlighted that Brigada Eskwela, DepEd’s flagship convergence program, reflects the agency’s continued partnership with stakeholders in maintaining school facilities and improving the overall learning environment.

The initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ‘s education agenda under the whole-of-government approach, which prioritizes improving learning conditions, strengthening basic education facilities, and expanding partnerships to enhance education outcomes nationwide.
