ANGELES CITY — “Love will never be cancelled and weddings will definitely happen.”

Thus said renowned wedding planner and event director, Voltaire Zalamea.

Adapting through the new normal as public events and mass gatherings are at a pause, the biggest bridal fair in Central Luzon, Wedding Destination: Pampanga Year 12 decided to go digital.

On its 12th year, Wedding Destination created a virtual marketplace becoming the first and only online bridal fair in Pampanga to transition into the new normal by opening its digital doors from August 1 to 20 through www.pampangaweddings.com.

Curated and organized by Events and Concepts by Voltaire Zalamea, this year’s Wedding Destination gathered 73 of the most sought-after event suppliers and wedding purveyors in this city for soon-to-wed couples to conveniently create their own wedding dream team.

According to Zalamea, the transition to go online is an adaptive measure as quarantine impositions are still being set and public gatherings are not yet allowed, putting the events industry in a challenging phase brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is a given fact that the event industry is the most affected by the pandemic. This online event boosted the morale of not only the suppliers but the soon-to-be brides and grooms as well,” Zalamea said.

“This is also a perfect opportunity for them to continue planning their weddings and choose suppliers at their convenience,” he added.

With the positive turnout and success of the virtual bridal fair, Zalamea also said that the online platform will continue as an annual event apart from the actual bridal fair once public gatherings have been permitted.

“We are hopeful that next year and in the succeeding years, Wedding Destination: Pampanga Grand Bridal Fair will happen twice annually — the actual fair inside the mall, and the online platform,” Zalamea said.

“Compared from the past 11 years, this year, despite using a new platform which is online, I can still say that this online bridal fair is also successful with the number of confirmed bookings the participating suppliers got,” he added. “The number of page visits and registered brides and grooms-to-be serves as a silver lining that weddings will still happen despite the pandemic.

As of this writing, Wedding Destination has reached more than 25,000 page views with 474 registered brides-and grooms-to-be.

Couples who are planning their wedding can still book through www.pampangaweddings.com until August 20 only.

Wedding Destination: Pampanga is supported by Wedding Essentials Magazine, Pampanga Weddings, Public Figure, and Punto! Central Luzon Newspaper.
