ANGELES CITY – – A 56-yearold man believed to be the top supplier of shabu in Gerona, Tarlac and leader of a gang engaged in other crimes was arrested by the Tarlac Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Barangay Ibagon in Gerona last Sunday.

The Gerona police identified the suspect as Raul Dulay Parazo who was found in possession of two sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and a .22 Astra Unceta pistol during a raid held by the TCIG which was backed by a court-issued search warrant.

Parazo allegedly heads the Graho gang which is believed to be also involved in gun-running, human trafficking and sex trade of minors. The raid was a joint operation of the CIDG led by Chief Inspector Angelo Nicolas and Gerona police chief Supt. Airel Rebancos Red.

A few hours before the raid at Parazo’s house, an informant reported he was even able to buy shabu from him, confirming his possession of a sizeable amount of the illegal drugs, police said.

But Parazo was apparently able to pass on to a courier most of the shabu in his possession before the raid.

A close relative who refused to be identified revealed Parazo has been into drugs for more than 30 years.

Parazo was charged with possession of illegal drugs (Section 11, RA 9165) and illegal possession of firearms (RA 10591). He is now detained at the CIDG detention, Camp Macabulos, Tarlac City, pending his transfer to the Tarlac Provincial Jail.
