CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A bridge inside the St. Jude Village Subdivision in Barangay San Agustin here collapsed at around 8:30 am today.

Residents said the bridge spanning the Magliman Creek leading to phase 3 of the subdivision cracked at past 7:20 am. It finally gave way an hour later flooding the area and leaving an enormous amount of mud.

Residents said the first responder was former flood czar Engr. Marni Castro who immediately went into action by mobilizing a backhoe and dump trucks to remove debris.

Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago lamented the refusal of phase 3 residents here to allow the construction of new bridge that was supposed to have started last February.

No reports of casualties were reported.
