In terms of the LTO law enforcement there was a decrease from 3,306 violators in 2008 to 3,012 apprehended in 2009.

“Ang nangyari kaya bumaba ang sa LTO Law Enforcement dahil wala nang nanghuhuling LTO law enforcers sa kalsada mula nang ma-recall yung kanilang mga deputation order mula sa LTO”, Cortez said.

Cortez added, the increase of revenues came from penalties and fines for Law Enforcement and Traffic Adjudication System (LETAS) as per Department Order No.2008-39 dated August 26, 2008. The apprehension cases from LTO Zambales Licensing Center and LTO SBMA Extension Office were forwarded at their office for settlement and payments.

“All motor vehicles had undergone through physical inspection and all the information gathered from the documents were at least 98% encoded through the computer system. Registration documents have undergone strict examination to ensure the correctness of all the data and authenticity of the requirements,” Cortez said.

Further, as a service oriented agency, we conducted a series of seminars to drivers and operators regarding traffic rules and regulations and also conducted smoke emission testing for motorcycle for hire in the nearby municipalities of Subic, Castillejos and San Marcelino, Zambales, he added.

“The ensuing years will be a new challenge to us but we will do our very best to serve our clientele in accordance with the standards set by the office,” Cortez said.
