PORAC, Pampanga – Back at the municipal hall on June 5 after serving the 90-day suspension arising from Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub in his jurisdiction, Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil is preventively suspended from office again – for 60 days – by the Office of the Governor of Pampanga for grave misconduct, gross negligence, and violation of the Anti-Red Tape Act. The order was reportedly sent to Capil via email on June 11, 2026, the same day it was signed by Gov. Lilia G. Pineda.

In a hastily called press briefing, Capil’s lawyer Atty. Arvi Gerard D. Rivera read the mayor’s statement noting that Vice Mayor Jen Capil now serves as acting mayor of Porac “to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of basic services to the public” and calling on “all municipal officials and employees to remain focus on public service and to continue performing their duties, professionalism and dedication.” Punto News Team/Contributed photos
