Intense training for school press bets held

    BALANGA CITY – The City Division of Schools here conducts starting today Thursday at the Cupang Elementary School a two-day intensive training for the Regional Schools Press Conference to be held in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.

    Felicisima R. Oria, English Supervisor, said 12 successful contestants in newswriting from the elementary and secondary schools chosen during the recent City Schools Press Conference will represent the City Schools Division in the RSPC from December 7 – 11, 2009.

    Kristin Joy E. Davila of the Bataan Montessori School, Jean Mari V. Merlan of Cabog-Cabog Elementary School and Rina Bianca M. Escalada of St. Joseph College will represent the city division in Newswriting in English (Elementary Division).

    Justin Jane T. Peni of T. Camacho Elementary School, Geraldine R. Escano of Cupang Elementary School and Sandy Loraine Calderon of Bataan Montessori will be vying for the top RSPC plum in the Newswriting in Filipino (Elementary Division).

    The contestants in Newswriting in English (Secondary Division) are Ma. Alanna Ke. A. Balbuena of Tomas del Rosario College, Alieza Elaine L. Batungbakal of St. Joseph College and Emmanuel T. Matic of Bataan National High School.

    Mary Merceditha R. Landayan of Bataan National High School, Gee-Anne Roxanne B. Canary of Tomas del Rosario College and Noelle Ibonette Z. Reyes of Bataan Montessori School are the top three in Newswriting in Filipino (Secondary) Division who will represent the city schools in the RSPC.

    “We are very hopeful that our candidates will bring home the bacon considering the intensive trainings they undertook during the Division Schools Press Conference and now the rigid exercises they will do for the regional contest,” Filipino Supervisor Dr. Corazon T. Lopez said.
