CL crime rate drops 41.325 during ECQ

The Police Regional Office 3 recorded a 41.32 percent decrease in Central Luzon crime rate during the entire duration of the enhanced community quarantine from March 17 to May 15.

The 5,344 crimes reported during the period weresignificantly lower compared to the 9,107 crimes reported during the same period in 2019.

“This only goes to show that amidst the enormous tasks being performed by our men and women on the ground, we continue to level-up our anti-criminality measures particularly on our anti-drug campaign along with the continuous strengthening of our police community relations. There is indeed a relationship between the involvement of the community and crime reduction. Through our relentless community policing, there has been a notable crime reduction,” PRO 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia said.

“We continue to intensify the conduct of operations against all forms of criminality even in this time of crisis, and we will have no let-up thru our enhanced focused police operations,” he added.

From March 17 to May 15, a total of 1,338 persons were arrested for illegal drugs wherein 2.09 kgs of shabu and 2.04 kgs of marijuana were seized.

A total of 1,715 were apprehended for illegal gambling with P420,141 cash bets confiscated. 27 most wanted persons and 320 wanted persons regionwide were likewise arrested.
