MEXICO, Pampanga- Police arrested a Chinese national and a native of Cebu after they were found in possession of P216 million worth of shabu and P300,000 cash during a buy bust operation here last Friday.
Pampanga police director Senior Supt. Oscar Albayalde identified the suspects as Chinese national Ding Wenkun, 30, and Roel Cabag, 48, of Cebu. A team from the Pampanga police, headed by Albayalde, conducted the anti-illegal drugs operations that led to their arrest at about 5 p.m. Friday at the Woodbridge Subdivision in Lakeshore site in Barangay Divisoria here.
Albayalde said a police poseur initially arranged to buy shabu worth P100,000 from the suspects with the latter’s base in the subdivision as venue. The police team moved in for the arrests as soon as the transaction was completed.
Albayalde said 36.5 kilos of suspected shabu were found in the suspects’ possession, estimated to have a street value of P216 million. Also recovered from the suspects were P400,000 cash, including the P100,000 marked money used by the police for the entrapment.
Appropriate charges were finalized yesterday against the suspects who remained at the provincial jail as of yesterday.
