CARRANGLAN, Nueva Ecija (PIA) – A P97-million farm-to-market road improvement project with a bridge in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija is expected to enhance transport access for more than 5,700 residents of Barangays Burgos and Salazar once completed.
In a statement, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Central Luzon said the 3.75-kilometer road connecting the two barangays has reached 92.65 percent physical completion as of July 15, 2026, with the remaining works expected to be finished by September.
These include the completion of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement gaps, application of thermoplastic pavement markings, installation of warning signages, and construction of revetment works.
The agency noted that the project will convert what was previously a substandard gravel road into a durable, all-weather, climate-resilient concrete road with a bridge, improving year-round transport access for rural communities.
Upon completion, the upgraded road is expected to improve mobility by reducing travel time and transportation costs while supporting the efficient transport of agricultural products, including aromatic and pigmented rice, corn, and other high-value crops, from farms to trading centers.
Funded under the DA-PRDP Scale-Up in partnership with the municipal government of Carranglan, the project supports the national government’s efforts to improve rural infrastructure, enhance agricultural productivity, and strengthen market connectivity under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3–Nueva Ecija)
