ACCORDING to director/actress Gina Alajar, if she will be given the chance to seat as one of the screening committees in the Metro Manila Film Festival, she wants a total balance on all film entries

“May apat kang movies for general patronage where the kids can watch and enjoy at meron kang apat na pang-award naman.

“Pero nandiyan na ‘yan, e. Wala na tayong magagawa.

“Let’s just wait and see na lang sa opening day kung ano ang magiging result ng pagbabago nila sa MMFF.”

Direk Gina was one among those who were shocked when the final MMFF entries came out. Almost all of the film entries were indie films.

“Siguro meron lang silang gustong patunayan this year.

“I’m not saying na may ginawa silang mali or anything. They just want to prove something at tingnan natin kung magwu-work yun.”

    The famous director’s film titled

“Ang Pastor” with Philip Salvador and Rosanna Roces was one of the entries but didn’t make it in the final round.

“Hindi kasi sila commercial movies, like the movies of Vic Sotto or Vice Ganda.

“I just don’t know how the audience will react to these movies, especially na ipapalabas sila on Christmas Day.”

“Christmas kasi is a time for family to get together, lalo na ang mga bata.

“Ilang years na akong may movie entry sa MMFF and I know yung mga pelikulang pinapasok at hindi.

“Or kahit yung mga star-studded drama and horror movies ng Regal Films.

Ngayon, with the entries na puro indie films, I doubt kung mari-reach nila yung target na kita ng MMFF this year.
