Olivia Cornejo-Mallari (front row, 4th from left), gathered nearly 200-in person attendees and 1,100 online participants

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) completed the third leg of its flagship financial education program in Cabanatuan City on 18 and 19 August 2026, as it continued to promote financial literacy in the country.

Through the 2026 Economic and Financial Learning Program (EFLP) Sessions, the BSP aims to make financial education more accessible, especially to underserved sectors.[1] The first two legs were held in Manila and Zamboanga.[2]

With the theme “Planong Panalo Para sa Negosyo,” the Nueva Ecija leg focused on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It gathered nearly 200 in-person and 1,100 online attendees for discussions on sound financial management and business growth.

Topics included recent economic developments, cash flow management, responsible borrowing, and safe and secure use of digital financial services. Participants also gained insights into strategies for building consumer trust, and insurance solutions that can help MSMEs protect their businesses and prepare for future opportunities.

BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat underscored the importance of maintaining good financial health. “It helps a business meet obligations, absorb unexpected expenses, and decide when to borrow or invest,” she said in a recorded message.

The seminar was co-organized with the Department of Trade and Industry – Nueva Ecija Provincial Office. It also featured booths for financial account opening and National ID registration.
