ANGELES CITY – Clark Development Corp. (CDC) President and CEO Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan’s State of the City Address saying “it fits well what should happen at Clark.”

Remollo said that Clark and its international airport “should fly high.”

“Totoo po na may bagwis, may pakpak ang Angeleño. Kaya nating lumipad. Handa na tayong lumipad!” said Pamintuan in his speech receiving applause from Remollo who was seated beside Pampanga First District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin.

A consultant of the mayor who refused to be named backs Remollo’s observation saying a precise branding should be used by the city.

He suggested the slogan “Sky is the limit,” stressing that local and foreign tourists could enjoy almost everything “limitless” – from entertainment, food to traveling and leisure.

Pamintuan earlier announced in his SOCA that his administration will also revive the “Sisig festival” this November.

For his part, Lazatin described Pamintuan as a “fighting mayor.”

He said Pamintuan’s SOCA was laudable because it intended to correct “mistakes” of the previous administration headed by then mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno.

Lazatin assailed the hiring of alleged “ghost employees” during the Nepomuceno government highlighted in the SOCA.

In his 16-page speech, Pamintuan said the city government got back the trust of the people by removing Nepomuceno’s job orders, most of whom were ghost employees.

On the other hand, Marc Nepomuceno, chairman of the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (MACCI), said they will urge Pamintuan to “standardized” the granting of business permits.

He said that they are working for the putting up of a “HELP Desk” designed to assist businessmen when applying for permits at the city hall.
