TARLAC CITY — Social Security System (SSS) reminded anew employers to comply with their obligations and pay their employees’ contribution.

This is in line with the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign which aims to heighten the awareness and compliance of employers on the Social Security (SS) Law, and to strengthen SSS collection efficiency thus, providing benefits to employed individuals.

“As partners in providing social security protection to our employed members, we want to help them and ensure their full compliance to the SS law amidst the economic crisis brought by this pandemic,” SSS Vice President for Luzon Central 1 Division Vilma Agapito stated.

Agapito bared that SSS issued written notices and gave an ultimatum to five non-compliant employers for failure to remit their employees’ SSS contribution, and one employer for non-registration of business to SSS.

“They were given 15 days to comply by visiting SSS Tarlac Branch. Otherwise, appropriate legal charges shall be filed against them,” she stressed.

From this RACE campaign, SSS targets to collect a total amount of P2.3 million worth of unpaid contributions of 108 employees with accumulated penalties.

Meanwhile, Agapito urged delinquent employers to avail the Pandemic Relief Restructuring Program (PRRP 2) for the condonation of penalties of past due contributions from March 2020 onwards.

Deadline of the program will be on May 19, 2022.

Also, employers may take advantage of the Enhance Installment Payment Program (PRRP 3) which assists employers who opt to pay their delinquency on installment in accordance with a Schedule of Monthly Installment Payments.

PRRP 3 will end on November 22, 2022.

Interested applicant employers are advised to coordinate with their assigned Account Officer of their servicing branch to assist them in the evaluation and documentation. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
