Dubbed as “The 360 Degrees Challenge”, SIAEP headed by GM Abu Bakar Bin Kunji Mohammed, was awarded Regional Winner for Luzon last May 2019 and again accorded the National Level Award last July 2019. An apt accolade for the company which support projects related to our ”Home Away from Home” advocacy. In addition, Technical Services engineer Mr. Gerald Taguiam was also awarded as Outstanding Worker of the Republic (TOWER) along with five (5) others from other companies nationwide.
The 360˚ Challenge included management-introduced business initiatives on cultural change to overcome past business challenges. The main purpose of which was to rally each and every employee behind the Company’s efforts towards one direction that would help reach its short-term goals. Through this employee involvement would result the turn-around results the Company needed at the time. These initiatives focused on reducing costs, improving Cash Flow and over-all performance, use of a balanced scorecard to ensure that safety and sales are equated and monitored for business continuity, and promoting staff initiatives through the House of SIAEP addressing eleven (11) varied business areas led by the Department Managers. All of these business initiatives centered on Human Resource Management recognizing its people as the most important assets of the company.
Intertwined with these business initiatives are the Employee-Related (ER) activities that were aligned to ensure employees’ awareness and participation making their time at work more meaningful and productive. These activities include, safety campaigns, Team Building Sessions, Leadership Trainings, 7 Habits for Highly Effective Managers, Train The Trainer (TTT), Six Sigma, Personality Development, Project Management, Health Seminars, and Physical and Financial Wellness Lectures. Related to employee involvement were the Employee Referral Reward Program (ERRF), Employee Satisfaction Survey (ESS), and Text Us which is an avenue for staff to air their opinions and concerns.
Other Employee-Related activities included Year-End Parties with SIAEP Got Talent sing and dance contests, Battle of the Bands, Christmas Décor Competitions, Boodle Fight and Pizza Parties (done company-wide to reward timely or ahead-of-time release of aircraft. Community and environmental awareness-related activities involved Blood Donation, Brigada Eskwela, and Tree-Planting. Spiritual Well-Being initiatives allowed for regular First Friday and Ash Wednesday Masses and included setting up a prayer room for our Muslim brothers. Finally, on Wellness and Fitness were the Company Sportsfest, Zumba, Fun Runs, and Bowling Competition.
The employees’ participation in the different ER activities and understanding and appreciation of the business initiatives has assured that the Company has realized the very goals of the 360˚ Challenge which are culture building, career development and nurturing diversity.
With the PMAP (People Management Association of the Philippines) awards celebrating its forty (40) years of recognizing outstanding, dynamic and excellent organizations and people who have created a big impact not only with their employees and organizations but to the national practice of human resource management as well, SIAEP is humbled to be accorded with such awards.
