BALANGA City, Bataan- A security guard was wounded during a shooting incident with a member of the Philippine National Police at a warehouse in Barangay Capitangan in Abucay, Bataan on Tuesday evening.
Report showed that a heated confrontation between the security guard and the police officer assigned at the Bagac, Bataan municipal police station led the security guard to shoot.
The police officer returned fire hitting the security in the left knee. The police officer then fled and sought refuge in a convenient store in the same barangay.
Report showed that responding swiftly, personnel from Bataan PPO led by Provincial Director Col. Marites Salvadora, together with Abucay MPS and the 1st PMFC, secured the area and initiated a negotiation that led to the police officer’s peaceful surrender and arrest at around 12:20 AM of October 15, 2025.
Recovered pieces of evidence from the place of incident were a caliber 9mm Glock (PNP issued) pistol, loaded with six live ammunition; a caliber 9mm M1911 pistol (Security Guard Duty Firearm) loaded with three 9mm live ammunition; and pieces of fired slugs/ empty shells.
Subject police officer is now in Abucay PNP custody under investigation, while the security guard is undergoing medical treatment at Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City. (30)
