CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A total of for 88,047 firearms with expired registration across Central Luzon have been accounted for by the Police Regional Office 3, a 97.44% accomplishment rate under its Accounting and Disposition of Firearms with Expired Registration (ADFER) campaign as of Oct. 31.

Of the 90,217 firearms covered by the regional monitoring list, only 2,173 remain unaccounted for, largely due to difficulties in locating registered owners at their recorded addresses.

Police said that under the leadership of director BGen. Jess B. Mendez, PRO-3 has accounted for 82,439 individually registered firearms out of 84,612, while all 5,605 firearms registered under juridical entities have been fully accounted for.

Mendez has directed police commanders to sustain their efforts in tracing registered owners whose recorded addresses could no longer be located or verified, while ensuring that firearms records are properly updated and reconciled.

The ADFER campaign involves identifying and accounting for firearms with expired registration, verifying their status, and facilitating compliance with applicable registration and disposition requirements. PRO-3/Punto News Team
