FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City — A new hangar facility was inauguratied at the Philippine Army’s Aviation Regiment here Saturday.

The inauguration rites were led by Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, Northern Luzon Command chief Lt. Gen. Arnulfo Marcelo B. Burgos, Jr. who represented  Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana, and regiment commander Col. Andre B. Santos.

The project was implemented by the Department of National Defense and the  Department of Public Works and Highways under the so-called Tatag ng Imprastruktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS).

Also present during the activity were special guests deputy chief of staff for logistics Major Gen. Rene S. Diaz representing AFP COS Lt. Gen. Jose C. Faustino Jr., 7th Infantry Division acting commander Brig. Gen. Luis Rex D. Bergante, and Light Reaction Regiment commander Brig. Gen. Monico E. Abang.

Santos said the new hangar will serve as quarterage for the new air assets of the Philippine Army. This will enhance the command’s capabilities in safeguarding its equipment, assets and at the same time enable the regiment to conduct aircraft maintenance activities 24/7.
