CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The national government has approved the rehabilitation of some 26-kilometer highway, P50-million project, linking Pantabangan town, Nueva Ecjia to Aurora province.
Disclosing this to Punto yesterday, Pantabangan Mayor Romeo Borja Sr. said representatives of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will visit their town on April 13 for an ocular inspection of the construction sites.
Borja thanked President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for approving the road work project.
“It will definitely improve trade, tourism and industry in our town, province and nearby Aurora,” said Borja, whose son Romeo Borja Jr. is a provincial board member.
Borja, in his first term, has initiated the construction of major infrastructure projects in the town which has 14 villages.
He visited Pampanga to look for furniture to be used for the new municipal hall set to be inaugurated on April 28.
He said the new municipal building in Barangay Poblacion cost P65 million. He added that P5 million more was used for the municipal hall extension office.
