SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) distributed relief supplies to 2,300 families affected by monsoon rains in three barangays in San Marcelino, Zambales, as the local government continued efforts to help residents recover from the calamity.
The beneficiaries included 1,000 families in Barangay Sta. Fe, 800 in Barangay Buhawen and 500 in Barangay Aglao.

The relief assistance consisted of food packs, rice, drinking water and medical kits to help meet the immediate needs of affected households.
The municipal government, led by Mayor Elvis Ragadio Soria, and the Sangguniang Bayan, headed by Vice Mayor Jimbo Ragadio Gongora, coordinated with the OVP in the distribution.

Local disaster response and social welfare personnel, police, firefighters and members of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company also supported the relief operation.
Soria thanked Vice President Sara Duterte and the OVP for extending assistance to affected residents, saying support from national government agencies and other organizations was helping communities recover from the impact of the habagat.

Although conditions in the three barangays have gradually returned to normal, the mayor said continued assistance remains important as families work to restore their livelihoods and resume their daily activities.
The municipal government said it would sustain coordination with national agencies and other partners to help ensure that assistance reaches families most in need.
