CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- A Marian exhibit is slated to be held at the Hilaga (formerly Paskuhan Village) here starting May 1 to 5.
The exhibit, which is part of a series of Maytime activities of the Hataw, Hirit sa Hilaga or H3 2013, will feature nine canonical apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, five traditional apparitions and one that is considered a dogma of the Catholic Church.
The nine canonical apparitions include the Our Lady of La Sallette, Our Lady of the Poor, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Knock, Our Lady of Hope, Our Lady of Beauraing or Virgin of the Golden Heart, Our Lady of Guadalupe and Our Lady of Fatima.
The five traditional apparitions include Our Lady of the Pillar, Our Lady of Consolation, Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of Mercy, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
Our Lady of the Immaculate Concepcion is a dogma of the Catholic Church maintaining that from the moment when she was conceived in the womb, the Blessed Virgin Mary was kept free of original sin and was filled with the sanctifying grace normally conferred during baptism.
The Marian exhibit was put up by Fr. Melo Agustin and Marian devotee Alma Twano, mother of Guagua town Vice Mayor Anthony Twano.
Another devotee said Our Lady of Mercy or Virgen Dela Merced was accompanied by 74 motorcycle-riding devotees when it was brought to the Hilaga for the exhibit from its home at Bahay Pari in Candaba town.
For his part, Department of Tourism Regional Director Ronnie Tiotuico said he welcomed the Marian exhibit and thanked Mrs. Twano and Fr. Agustin for their effort in putting it up. Tiotuico said local as well as foreign devotees will appreciate the display which was a first at Hilaga.
On May 31, a Santacruzan will capped the H3 festivities.
Twano said Archbishop Paciano B. Aniceto will inaugurate the Marian exhibit at 8 a.m. on May 1.
