CABANATUAN CITY – A drunken jobless man repeatedly hit his 2-year-old son and hacked his responding father at about 4:30 in Barangay Batitang here over the weekend.
Police identified the suspect as Cipriano Alberto, 25, a resident of the said place while the victims were his father, Artemio and the son whose named is withheld, being a minor.
Investigation showed the suspect engaged his wife in a heated confrontation until he “punched and kicked his two-year-old son” inside their house.
Senior Supt. Roberto Aliggayu, Nueva Ecija police director, said that the Artemio and wife Teresita went to pacify the suspect but the latter instead took a bolo and hit his father several times.
The older Alberto sustained hack wounds in his head and left arm, police said. The boy was rushed to the Ramos General Hospital for medical treatment, Aliggayu said.
Aliggayu said charges of attempted parricide and child abuse were filed against the suspect before the provincial prosecutor’s office this city.
