FOOD PACKS WITH SEEDLINGS. Angeleños receive food packages alongside organic vegetable seedlings during the second wave of food pack distribution of the Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.

ANGELES CITY –
The Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., distributed 169,784 more food packs to all families in the city’s 33 barangays for the second wave of distribution.

The City Government also distributed organic vegetable seedlings per household alongside the food packs.

This is part of the Luntiang Barangay Lingap project launched by Mayor Lazatin to promote food sufficiency and alternative source of organic vegetables in every home.

To date, the City Government has already distributed 123,506 seedlings in 17 barangays.

The seedlings distribution to the other 46,278 households in 16 barangays is still ongoing.

Lazatin allotted a total of P5 million for the said project.

“Hinihikayat ko po kayo na magtanim ng gulay sa inyong mga bakanteng lote upang magkaroon ng alternative source of organic vegetables ang bawat tahanan,” he said.

A house-to-house distribution was carried out from April 29 to May 11, 2020, where Public Utility Jeepneys were rented to deliver the seedlings and food packs.

A total of 46,278 food packs were distributed last April 29, 2020; 26,528 on April 30; 25,872 on May 2; 22,085 on May 5; 23,772 on May 6; and 25,249 on May 11.

“Hindi po tumitigil ang aking administrasyon upang maipaabot sa bawat tahanang Angeleño ang tulong mula sa inyong pamahalaan,” Lazatin said.

Lazatin also cited the service of City Hall workers since day one of the Enhanced Community Quarantine period.

“Taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng kawani ng Siyudad Angeles sa suporta, tulong at malasakit nila sa kapwa nila Angeleño,” he added.

“Hindi ko po kaya ang laban na ito kung wala ang tulong ng masisipag na City Hall workers at barangay officials,” he added said.
