Innovarc’s Ar. Justine Amor Garcia has earned the People’s Choice Award in the Professional Category for his design of The Capital Commons in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Completed in July 2023, the project reimagines the Filipino “third place” as a shared space where work, education, culture, and community converge.
Inspired by Bacolor’s heritage and resilience following the devastation of Mt. Pinatubo’s lahar, the design features a 20-foot live-edge acacia “Turntable” table, reclaimed materials, volcanic ash stone, recycled tracing paper, and works by local artisans.
The flexible space can transform into a studio, gallery, archive, or venue for seminars and workshops, while opening its doors to students, architects, and Pampanga’s creative community.
The formal awarding ceremony will be held on October 3, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Costa Palawan Resort in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
