GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija – The Interim Division VI of National Irrigation Administration- Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-UPRIIS) has been conducting mass work activities in cleaning canals and other facilities in time for the start of the dry crop season.
The division, led by Engr. Jose Ariel Domingo, initiated the activity on Nov. 27 despite the pandemic, according to the UPRIIS public information office.
“This activity is part of the regular maintenance works on irrigation canals, in preparation also to the nearing release of irrigation water for Dry Crop 2021,” the PIO said.
Domingo said unit heads and personnel participated in cleaning waterways. He said they are now checking other facilities and equipment.
The irrigation services to rice lands within the interim division for dry crop season is expected to resume on Dec. 16.
Meanwhile, the PIO assured that the UPRIIS headed by Engr. Rosalinda Bote, Department Manager, strictly observes health protocols being implemented by the inter-agency task force such as social distancing, sanitation and wearing face mask in their activities.
