Fish vendor nabbed for guns, drugs

ambales A fish vendor arrested at the enhanced communtiy quarantine control point along the National Highway in Barangay Pamatawa, here for failure to present travel pass was found with guns and drugs in his possession.

In his report to Zambales police provincial directorCol. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Subic police chief Major Gilbert identified the suspect as Rainer Valera y De Jesus, 26, of Barangay San Nicolas, Castillejos, Zambales.

Report said that when the suspect was asked for his travel pass, he tried to run leaving behind his motorcycle but was collared by the police at the checkpoint.

Upon inspection of his sling bag, police found two .38 revolvers, six transparent plastic sachets of shabu weighing 14 grams with market value of P100,000, a weighing scale, and P50,000 cash. The suspect also yielded one watch, a brown wallet, and one Suzuki Skydrive motorcycle.

Records showed the suspect was listed Top 3 in the San Marcelino Police Station’s Sibat Target personalities involved in selling drugs.

Valera is now facing charges for violation of Section 9 of RA 11332, Resistance and Disobedience upon Agent of Person in Authority; Section 11 of RA 9165 (Dangerous Drug Act of 2002), and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
