GAPAN CITY – A 36-year-old scion of a Chinese-Filipino family from Cabanatuan City was killed while his two women companions were arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay San Roque here at about 1am Tuesday.

Lloyd Ang, whose mother owns a supermarket in Cabanatuan City, reportedly fired a .45 pistol towards the lawmen after a chase of over two kilometers, police said.

Supt. Peter Madria, city police chief, said Ang boarded his pick-up truck (VQ 8993) and drove toward south direction right after handing over a sachet of shabu and getting the marked money from an undercover lawman.

The lawmen gave chase and fired at the pick-up’s tires but it continued running until two tires burst.

At this juncture, Madria said, the suspect drew the handgun and fired. No one was hit among the operatives.

Responding policemen, however, shot the suspect in different parts of his body causing his immediate death, investigation showed.

The buy-bust operation which yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu and the gun was conducted by elements of the provincial counter intelligence special operation unit of the provincial police office.

Arrested were Ruby Dasig, 48, of Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija and Carolina Lapina, 48, of Barangay Accfa, Cabanatuan City.

The women, who both admitted in media interview to have used drugs on Sunday, were on board a separate vehicle tailing Ang.

Dasig said they met Ang in the area to advise him to stop his alleged illegal activities after a brother of Lapina allegedly went missing for days.
