SAN JOSE CITY – A drug-dealing fake policeman met his match – fatally – in a real cop posing as a drug pusher.
One Joel Quibuyen, alias Kano, an alleged hired gun and drug pusher who posed as a policeman was killed in a buy–bust operation Barangay Camanacsacan here at about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday.
In a report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Marvin Joe Saro, city police chief Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno said the policeman who pretended to be a drug pusher managed to buy a sachet of shabu from the suspect.
“When the transaction was consummated, the suspects sensed that they (were) transacting with a police officer, then alias Kano pulled his short firearm and fired at the operating troops that ensued into firefight hitting the said suspect fatally,” Bruno said in his report.
Quibuyen’s companion though was able to flee onboard a single motorcycle, he said.
Investigators recovered from the suspect a .38 revolver, 15 sachets of shabu and six packs of dried marijuana leaves with estimated value of P160,000.
Police also recovered the suspect’s identification cards and police uniform.
Police said that aside from being a gun–for–hire and drug pushing, the suspect who identified himself as member of the national police was also involved in robbery activities.
