TARLAC CITY — The TSU School of Law participated in the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Spring Camp 2026 held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from March 12–15, 2025. The university was represented by the Governor of the Student Council, Clarisa Maye P. Isidro, under the National Chapter of Association of Law Students of the Philippines.
The ALSA Spring Camp brought together law student leaders from various Legal Education Institutions across Asia for a dynamic exchange of ideas, leadership, and cultural appreciation. The event featured a combination of academic discussions and cultural immersion activities designed to foster collaboration and broaden the global perspectives of participating delegates.
The academic session of the camp focused on the theme “AI Governance and Data Privacy in the Age of Digital Transformation.” The discussion provided participants with valuable insights into the emerging legal challenges surrounding artificial intelligence and the importance of safeguarding data privacy in an increasingly digital society.
As part of the program, delegates also participated in a Mock General Council Meeting where students were given a glimpse of how deliberations and decision-making processes take place in an actual General Council Meeting of the association. The activity allowed participants to experience how policies and resolutions are discussed, debated, and adopted within an international student organization.
Beyond the academic sessions, the camp also highlighted the rich culture and traditions of Vietnam. Delegates were given the opportunity to visit notable tourist destinations in Ho Chi Minh City, including the historic Independence Palace and the iconic Central Post Office. These cultural activities allowed participants to gain a deeper appreciation of Vietnam’s heritage while strengthening connections with fellow law student leaders from across the region.
The participation of TSU School of Law in this international event was made possible through the generous support of Dr. Jose I. dela Rama Jr. and the Justice Jose dela Rama Sr. Law Foundation, Inc., whose funding enabled the university’s representation in the camp.
The Office of the Student Council extends its sincere gratitude for opportunities such as these that provide students with meaningful international exposure. Such experiences not only enhance academic learning but also empower future legal professionals to engage with global legal issues and build networks within the international legal community.
