ORION, Bataan (PIA) — Communities in Orion, Bataan can now expect more efficient and reliable public services following the completion of the town’s new municipal hall by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The newly constructed 1,479.02-square-meter, three-story multipurpose building in Barangay San Vicente was formally turned over to local officials during an inauguration ceremony led by the agency.
Funded under the 2023 and 2024 national budgets, the P57.17-million project was completed in two phases to replace the old municipal hall and provide a safer, more functional facility for public transactions and local governance.

“The first phase, which began in June 2023, covered the construction of the three-story structure with a roof deck. It features Grade 40 and 60 reinforcing steel for structural integrity, upgraded electrical and plumbing systems, a water pumping system, waterproofing, fire sprinklers, and glass and glazing to enhance lighting, energy efficiency, and aesthetics,” DPWH Bataan 2nd OIC-District Engineer Roland Rainier Victorino explained.
He added that the second phase, completed in June 2024, focused on constructing the Mayor’s Office, staff offices, and conference room, incorporating structural steel support for an elevator, built-in storage, and enhanced utility systems.
“Beyond improving functionality and providing a modern work environment, the new municipal hall strengthens public safety, compliance, and the overall image of the local government, fostering greater trust among the community,” Victorino said.
Local officials expressed gratitude to the national government for prioritizing infrastructure that directly benefits the people by promoting efficient, transparent, and responsive local governance.
The turnover of the new municipal hall reflects the Marcos administration’s commitment to strengthening local governance through infrastructure development, a key pillar of the Bagong Pilipinas vision, which aims to deliver improved public services and promote inclusive progress nationwide.
