DPWH completes flood-control structures in Nueva Ecija

Department of Public Works and Highways completes several flood-control structures in Nueva Ecija. (DPWH)


 

CABANATUAN CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed several flood-control structures in Nueva Ecija.

Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office caretaker Eduardo De Guzman said these aims to protect river-bank areas, urban and agricultural communities, and other physical infrastructures located in hazard-prone areas.

Completed projects include the 720.00 l.m Pampanga River Flood Control, Earth Dike and Concrete Slope Protection with Sheet Pile in barangays Sumacab Norte and San Josef Sur in Cabanatuan City.

Also, the 290.40 l.m. flood control structure in barangay Tabuating, San Leonardo town.

The agency likewise finished the 135.20 l.m. flood mitigation structure in barangay Pinagbayanan, Laur town.

“Those living in high-risk, flood-prone areas rely on these structures for their protection,” De Guzman added.

DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office aims to complete this year a total of 13 flood control projects amounting to about P585 million with a physical target of 4,589.95 l.m. (CLJD-PIA 3)
