OLONGAPO CITY — A pregnant wife and her husband tested positive of Covid-19 today, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 25, of which 10 are active.
Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., chair of the city inter-agency task force, said husband and wife, together with their grandmother, traveled to Pasig City on July 14 to fetcha relative and returned to Olongapo on the same day.
On July 20, the husband, aged 30, had a consultation with a private ENT specialist while the wife, aged 28, had her pre-natal check–up with her private OB-Gyn.
Two days after, the couple underwent RT-PCR test and the result came out positive of Covid-19 today, July 24. Husband and wife are now isolated and set to be admitted in a hospital in the City.
The grand mother is symptomatic and the result of her RT-PCT test is pending.
The city health department has conducted contract tracing, and while no one else in the immediate circle of the couple has shown symptoms, all have been required to go into 14–day quarantine and undergo RT-PCR test.
