Covid-19 in Cabanatuan: Lawyer, hog trader, health worker are new cases


CABANATUAN CITY – A health worker, a hog trader and a lawyer have been tested positive of the coronavirus disease raising to 64 the confirmed cases in this city as of Friday.

According to the city information and tourism office, the 31-year-old health care worker from Barangay Magsaysay Sur had cough and nasal congestion while the hog dealer, aged 55, from Barangay Aduas Sur experienced fever, pneumonia, difficulty in breathing and persistent cough.

On the other hand, the 50-year-old lawyer of Sumacab Este was asymptomatic.

While the hog trader went only to Sangitan Public Market where some cases were monitored, the lawyer had traveled to Manila and Makati City.

Having recorded recoveries of 31 and zero death, this city has in its current log 33 active Covid patients.

Vice Mayor Julius Cesar Vergara reiterated the call to the public to observe health protocols such as wearing of face mask, social distancing, washing of hands, disinfecting and sanitizing, and staying at home unless for essential needs or activities to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Vergara also urged residents to refrain from consuming liquor in this time of pandemic.

In the province of Nueva Ecija meanwhile, the total Covid-19 cases was placed at 166, of which 75 have recovered, 84 active, and seven have died.
