ANGELES CITY — As part of its corporate social responsibility, Converge ICT Solutions Inc. will donate the proceeds from the sale of some 400-kilometer copper scrap taken down by the firm to the further development of Ospital ning Angeles (ONA).

President and CEO Dennis Uy announced this after meeting with Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on Wednesday afternoon at the city hall. Uy said has its foot firmly established in Angeles City where it originally started that is why he will support the undertakings of the city government led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.

For a start, Uy said he will support the further development of ONA facilities.

Converge ICT is currently taking down the old Internet and cable wires made of copper as the firm shifted to the pure end-to-end fiber optic technology in Angeles City.

Converge will spend around $1.4 billion in the development of its fiber optic backbones in northern and southern Luzon. Some $350 million dollars alone will be spent in Angeles City where Converge ICT originally started.

Converge is currently laying out its sea cables that will connect it to several islands in the country such as Cebu City.

Uy has vowed to assist in the further development of ONA facilities.

The delivery of good health services at ONA and the rural health centers is one of the top priorities of Mayor Lazatin.
