SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ (PIA) — The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and the local government unit (LGU) of Cabanatuan City have partnered to support rehabilitation and skills training initiatives for child residents of the Bahay Pag-Asa Residential Care Center (BPARCC).
This partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement for the implementation of the project titled “Liwanag at Pag-asa mula sa Agham at Teknolohiya ng CLSU” or LIPAT.
Located in Barangay Kalikid Sur, Cabanatuan City, BPARCC is a 24-hour rehabilitative child-caring facility that caters to male Children in Conflict with the Law and Children at Risk, ensuring their protection and welfare.
In a statement, CLSU described the LIPAT Project as a comprehensive intervention approach that provides agricultural technical knowledge and lifelong skills aimed at helping uplift child residents of the facility toward improved and more sustainable living conditions.
The university also noted that the project includes capacity-building activities, practical agricultural learning, values formation, and skills development that promote self-reliance, productivity, and personal growth.
Through this partnership, CLSU and LGU Cabanatuan reaffirmed their commitment to supporting rehabilitation efforts and promoting community development through science, technology, education, and extension services.
This aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s thrust to strengthen child protection programs and support development initiatives for vulnerable sectors, particularly children in need of care. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
