CLARK FREEPORT— As the Service Agreement between Metro Clark Waste Management Corporation (MCWMC) and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) nears its expiry, CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera remains committed to ensuring environmental compliance.

In a letter dated May 28, 2024, Atty. Devanadera wrote to the Environmental Management Bureau Regional Office 3 of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-EMB RO 3) to request a copy of MCWMC’s Abandonment Plan.

In response to CDC’s inquiry, Martin Jose Despi, Regional Director of EMB-RO 3, stated in a letter dated June 4 that MCWMC was required to submit a Safe Closure Disposal Site Plan and Abandonment Plan, citing General Provision No. 9 of Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) No. RO3-1507-0301, which mandates submission ninety (90) days before project abandonment.

The Clark Sanitary Landfill is located at Sitio Kalangitan, Clark Special Economic Zone.
