ANGELES CITY- Police agents are hunting for the still unknown suspect in the killing of a 17-year-old female taekwondo expert and campus beauty queen who was stabbed in her dormitory in Barangay Sto. Cristo here last Saturday.
Investigator SPO3 Juanito Villamil identified the victim as Danielle Louise Conde, an engineering student at the Holy Angel University here. The suspect, believed to be male, stabbed her several times in her dormitory at Babuli Apartments on Quirino St. in Barangay Sto. Cristo at about 4:45 p.m. last Saturday.
Classmates said Conde was a taekwondo expert and had also been a finalist in campus beauty contests.
Villamil said probers still had no clue on the identity of the suspect, but cited teenagers playing basketball near the apartment as having seen him flee on board a mountain bike.
He said probers are looking into the possibility that the suspect was caught by the victim stealing in her room, prompting the suspect to stab her before fleeing. Several items were reportedly missing in the room.
“The witnesses said they heard a shout for help apparently coming from the victim, and then they saw a male who had semi-bald hair, wearing blue pants and gray shirt with red stripe fleeing on a mountain bike with orange rim tires,” Villamil said.
The suspect fled towards Barangay Lourdes Northeast and later was seen going towards the old railways, he noted.
Conde was rushed to the Angeles University Medical Center but doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
Villamil said checkpoints established by the police to cordon the suspect did not yield any result.
He expressed confidence, however, that the suspect would eventually be identified with the help of witnesses as well as her classmates.
