Color, music, and devotion filled the streets of Apalit, Pampanga as 12 barangays participated in Street Dance during the celebration of the 182nd Apu Iru Libad Festival, June 26.
The lively parade and performances passed through Reyes Street beside St. Peter, Gonzales Avenue, and the area in front of the Apalit Municipal Hall, where hundreds of residents and visitors gathered to witness one of the festival’s most anticipated events.

Representing their respective barangays, the performers wore vibrant costumes and showcased festival kings in energetic presentations inspired by the history, faith, culture, traditions, and arts of Apalit. Each group paid tribute to Apu Iru, blending storytelling with choreography.

The competition highlighted the town’s commitment to preserving and promoting the religious and cultural significance of the Libad Festival while giving local artists and performers a platform to showcase their creativity and talent.

Beyond the competition, the event also aimed to strengthen community pride and Kapampangan identity, educate audiences about Apalit’s rich heritage through dance and music, and encourage young people to actively participate in preserving local traditions for future generations.

The Street Dance was organized under the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), led by the Municipal Tourism Office and the 429th Apalit Town Fiesta Executive Committee, as one of the major highlights of the 182nd Apu Iru Libad Festival.
