CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Farmers and fisherfolk in Central Luzon are expected to benefit from improved market access, reduced post-harvest losses, and better livelihood opportunities as the Department of Agriculture (DA) Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) reinforces its commitment to the timely and efficient implementation of rural infrastructure investments.
DA-PRDP highlighted that these investments are expected to strengthen rural connectivity, improve market access, and enhance agricultural productivity in the region.
To ensure that key projects remain on track, DA-PRDP Central Luzon, along with its key implementing partners, including local government units (LGUs), farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs), and construction contractors, gathered to assess the progress of ongoing projects and align implementation plans and disbursement targets.

During the activity, DA-PRDP reported that Central Luzon has seven approved infrastructure subprojects under the PRDP Scale-Up with a combined worth of about P1.5 billion.
Among these projects are farm-to-market roads and an onion cold storage facility that are now under implementation and are targeted for completion by 2027.
In addition, the recent approval of two major subprojects by the DA-PRDP Regional Project Advisory Board, which include the P727 million improvement of the Baloganon–Sitio Coto, Taltal Farm-to-Market Road and construction of 11 Bridges in Masinloc, Zambales, and the P110 million improvement of the Cozo-Agues Farm-to-Market Road in Casiguran, Aurora, has further expanded the region’s infrastructure portfolio.
Meanwhile, DA-PRDP Central Luzon continues to advance infrastructure investments that support inclusive agricultural growth, strengthen rural economies, and improve the lives of farmers and fisherfolk in the region through sustained collaboration among government agencies, LGUs, FCAs, and other partners.
The initiative supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s agenda of promoting inclusive rural development through investments in agricultural infrastructure. (CLJD/AJRR, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
