TARLAC CITY – Gov. Susan Yap, Vice Gov. Carlito “Casada” David and Department of the Interior and Local Government-Tarlac provincial director Armi Bactad received from DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos and Senator JV Ejercito the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance award in a ceremony held at the Fiesta Pavilion of the Manila Hotel recently.
This is the fifth time that Tarlac province was named as a recipient of the prestigious award. The first was in 2015 and 2016 under then Gov. Vic Yap while the other two were in 2018 and 2019 under the leadership of incumbent Gov. Susan Yap.
Ten other local government units from the province received their SGLG awards, namely City of Tarlac, and the municipalities of Bamban, Capas, Gerona, Moncada, Paniqui, Pura, San Clemente, Sta. Ignacia, and Victoria.
Aside from the province of Tarlac, the Central Luzon provinces of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Bataan were also named SGLG winners.
The SGLG honors local government units due to their sound financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management and tourism, culture and the arts.
“To receive once again the SGLG award for five years is a testament to our commitment to deliver services to our people promptly, efficiently and compassionately. My wholehearted gratitude to my PGT (Provincial Government of Tarlac) family for heeding the call Serbisyong MaYap para sa Tarlac,” Gov. Yap said.
Last August 23, The Provincial Government of Tarlac underwent the national level validation for the 2022 SGLG award where the national validation team visited the Provincial Capitol, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Operation Center and the Provincial Evacuation Center and met with the different departments for authentication of their submitted reports and documents.
