CLARK FREEPORT – As Ash Wednesday ushered in the Lenten season, official exorcists of the Catholic Church have issued a list of computer games which they described as “demonic.”

They also cited a website for kids who consequently experience “weird things” that would later need the intervention of exorcists.

Fr. Marius Roque, official exorcist of the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga, confirmed to Punto the authenticity of the list which are being passed on via Facebook messenger or cellphone texts.

“We discourage not only demonic computer video games, but also horror movies and novels,” said Roque who has performed exorcisms involving mostly teenagers in his parish church in Barangay Sto. Nino in the City of San Fernando.

The messages being passed on was initially from Fr. Jocis Syquia, offi cial exorcist of the Archdiocese of Manila, who addressed himself to parents.

Syquia, in behalf of the apostolate in his Ministry of Exorcism, asked families to “please monitor your kids” and bar them from playing video games. He identified the games as Dota, League of Legends, Crossfire, Special Force, Counter Strike, Battle Realm, Devil May City, Clash of Clans, Grand Theft Auto, and Resident Evil.

Syquia, author of a four-volume book on exorcism, said these games “either have demonic suggestive images or may open the third eye or cause trance-like states among children.”

“There is also a website wherein kids sign up for the Illuminati and a ritual is done on them. Some kids here have experienced weird things after signing up and have asked for help (for exorcism rites),” he added.
