MEXICO, Pampanga – Science and nature. Body and emotion. The physical and the spiritual. All melding in “a haven for healing, living and relaxation” that is soon to rise at the vast Lakeshore estate in Pampanga’s next city.

With stakeholders led by foremost architect, residential developer and urban planner Nestor S. Mangio, ground was broken on Sunday for The Lakeshore Medical Center and The Lighthouse Residences before an enthusiastic audience of medical professionals, real estate developers and agents.

In its prospectus, “10-Point Developments” defined the scope of the project: a 200-bed capacity modern and well-equipped hospital as the flagship development; residential condominiums and condotel; medical arts building and commercial center; wellness and longevity medical spa; immune cell therapy; hyperbaric oxygen therapy; medical school;
assisted living facility; retirees home/hospice; and center for geriatric medicine.

The Lakeshore Medical Center projected at a cost of P1.3 billion is promised to house the most modern medical facilities with subspecialty dedicated centers – neurology with stroke center, center for trauma and rehabilitation – and institutes – in kidney and renal transplant, heart, and cancer, as well as state-of-the-art operating theaters and emergency department, modern and well-equipped radiology department, and nuclear medicine. It will also house an ICU, a CCU and eventually a stroke unit.

With its fully equipped and modern ambulances, treatment can be started even while the patient is in transit to the center. Additionally, the facility is helicopter-ready to accept air lifting services (Air Ambulance) for patients from distant locations.

Unique medical disciplines the facility will provide will include functional, recreational, and traditional Chinese medicine.

Synergized with the medical center, The Lighthouse Residences comprises condominium and condotel towers connected to the medical facility and ER through a bridge. Each room will have a “red phone” or intercom system that is directly connected to the ER or emergency response concierge. The main door, bathrooms, flooring and switches
will be suited for patient housing. There will be an oxygen piping and suction system in each unit in case unit owners have their patients live with them.

Exercise and physical activity podiums, open and lush gardens, swimming pools are basic amenities.

The Lighthouse Residences takes the aphorism “health is wealth” to a whole new level: it makes the very definition of luxury healthcare. Part of the whole healing-living package is a medical school to address the operational demands in manpower especially its future full capacity demands for medical practitioners and allied medical professionals.

Projected cost for The Lighthouse Residences stands at P2.4 billion, along with P1 billion for medical arts and commercial assisted living, and P700 million for facilities.

In his brief message at the groundbreaking ceremonies, Pampanga 3rd District Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. hailed Architect Mangio for his vision in establishing the Lakeshore estate that served as a hub for the development of the town of Mexico and with The Lakeshore Medical Center and The Lighthouse Residences “auguring well for the coming of the City of Mexico.”

Gonzales filed the bill for the cityhood of his hometown earlier this month.

Construction is slated to start in October this year, the inauguration of The Lighthouse Residences by December 2024, and the operation of The Lakeshore Medical Center by 2025. With PR
