CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Daniel Fernando in Bulacan. Aurelio “Oyie” Umali in Nueva Ecija. Dennis “Delta” Pineda in Pampanga. Susan Yap in Tarlac. Hermogenes “Jun” Ebdane in Zambales. All incumbent governors filed their certificates of candidacy for reelection.
Fernando is challenged by Vice Gov. Willy Alvarado, himself a multi-term former governor.
Umali is opposed by Palayan City Mayor Adrianne Mae Cuevas.
Pineda has for rival self-acclaimed “Son of the Father” Danilo Baylon, former one-term mayor of Candaba town.
Yap is on a solo, therefore sure, run for her third and last term at the Tarlac Capitol.
Ebdane will slug it out with 2nd District Rep. Cheryl Deloso-Montalla and one Milinia Ranchez Nuesca.
Incumbent Bataan Gov. Albert “Abet” Garcia who is on his third term switched places with brother 2nd District Rep. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia whose gubernatorial bid is unopposed. Abet is challenged in his congressional bid by Eliza Ann Roque of Promdi.
In Aurora province, incumbent Gov. Gerardo “Jerry” Noveras traded places with his son incumbent Vice Gov. Christian Noveras. The father will face Narciso Amansec while the son is opposed by Engr. Isidro Galban.
