CABANATUAN CITY – A man and a woman were arrested while the latter’s live-in partner eluded arrest in successive anti-drug operations here Sunday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito, head of the Nueva Ecija police’s drug enforcement unit, identified the arrested suspects as Valerie Ann Santin, 36, and Albert Castro, 41, both pf Barangay Cruz Roja, this city.
Desamito said Santin yielded three sachets of suspected shabu with estimated value of P10,880 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cruz Roja at around 12:35 p.m. Her live-in partner, Allan Castro, 43, was able to escape though, police said.
The younger Castro, on the other hand, was arrested in another but-bust in Barangay Lourdes, also of this city, at about 2:10 p.m., according to the police.
Operatives seized from him 26 plastic sachets of shabu with estimated street value of P193,120.
Police also recovered from the suspects the marked bills used to buy drugs from them, Desamito said.
Charges of violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law have been filed against the suspects before the city prosecutors office.
