ANGELES CITY — Celebrating Philippines’ 122nd Independence Day under the new normal, SM Supermalls held its first virtual live concert with Filipino rock icon Bamboo Mañalac dubbed Freedom Rocks via Zoom over the weekend.

SM Supermalls setup a full stage concert at the SM Skydome as Bamboo and his band performed live with no actual audience in attendance while his band members took into consideration of wearing face mask, observing proper physical distancing measures during their live concert production.

“This is our first time with a full-stage setup, and no physical audience. First time to see each other in months too, we miss something but this is ideal,” said Bamboo.

Bamboo stayed relevant by performing his OPM classic hits to give hope and inspire people through the power of music. Participants across the Philippines from Baguio, Pampanga, Cebu, and Davao to name a few enjoyed an hour of full concert experience through online streaming at the comforts of their home.

Bamboo performed some of his greatest hits like Hallelujah, Masaya, Noypi, Mr. Clay, and Tatsulok including songs from his previous band Rivermaya such as Awit ng Kabataan, Himala, and 214.
