CABANATUAN CITY – Gov. Aurelio Umali today pressed for the stay of Nueva Ecija under enhanced community quarantine as he expressed apprehension on the possible new wave of coronavirus disease once the rules were relaxed.

Umali who heads the Nueva Ecija Inter-Agency Task Force said Wednesday that he would not want the sacrifices of health workers and other frontliners go to waste.

He underscored the need for mass testing to determine readiness to “move to another Q”.

He called for a meeting with local executives on Friday.

Umali cited the experience of Singapore and Japan which are now battling second waves of coronavirus infections.

This developed as another physician was declared positive of the Covid-19 on Tuesday.

The 47-year-old patient raised the number of Covidpositive in the province to 47.
