MABALACAT CITY —
Himself carrying sacks of rice to the front gates of homes, Mayor Crisostomo Garbo personally led the distribution of rice to households unlisted in the Department of Social Welfare and Developments Social Amelioration Program.

No one in Mabalacat City will be left-out in relief assistance, said Garbo as he put a 25-kilo sack of rice on a chair placed by house gate in Barangay Sta. Maria to observe social distancing.

According to the mayor, the DSWD list has 30,425 households to each receive the P6,500 SAP, way below the citys total of over 81,000.

As a stop-gap measure, the city government decided to distribute 25 kilograms rice subsidy to the 51,000 households not included in the DSWD SAP list.

The distribution of rice in Barangay Sta. Maria is the citys second tranche of assistance to the residents, with Garbo personally leading it so as to know their situation specially with the extension of the ECQ.

The mayor also reminded his constituents during the distribution to stay at home to prevent contracting the virus.
